Who We’re Looking For
If you have the passion, we have the opportunity
We are looking to partner with veterinarians who are excited about practicing medicine and want to dedicate more time to medicine and less time to the somewhat dreary operational tasks involved in running a business. A doctor who values their clinical autonomy and is motivated to continue to lead their team, carry the culture of their practice, and have a little fun while they’re at it.
In our typical partnership, AVP will purchase majority equity in the practice, with the selling doctor retaining significant minority equity and complete clinical control. Our partnerships are inherently flexible in their structure and terms, and we’re ready to customize a partnership that aligns with your unique needs and goals.
Our ideal partner is a doctor who is not looking to retire in the next three or more years but wants to monetize some portion of ownership interest with an option to monetize the rest over time. This allows our partners to enjoy the financial benefits of the built-in equity in their practice earlier than retirement while retaining clinical autonomy and an ongoing ownership interest in their hospital.
Associate veterinarians interested in leadership or ownership roles can have the option of building ownership interest in the practice over time.
We love what we do – and it shows
We know the best way to ensure your veterinary practice continues to thrive.
Treat team members fairly
There are no scripts at AVP; we speak authentically and with no hidden agendas. Our compensation philosophy is simple and straightforward: A substantial base salary with the opportunity to earn more as the practice grows, plus a growing benefit offering across the network. We provide a great place to work, and we look to you to provide compassionate care to patients and excellent experiences to clients. Our approach may be a little quirky – AVP isn’t for everyone, but those who get us, love us.
Invest in team members’ growth
Great teams don’t happen by accident! Whatever stage of your career your team members are in, we’re looking to support them in taking steps forward. From applicants looking for their first break into veterinary medicine, veterinarians well on their path but looking to continue growing, to seasoned professionals who are burned out from the corporate grind and seeking positive change – we’re excited to partner in building great careers.
Listen to the needs of the practice
Simply put, the Success Center has one focus: the needs of our team members. We are always collecting feedback from our teams and using their input to shape our approach to best support their success. The Success Center’s name isn’t a coincidence: Removing any obstacles to your success is our most important job, and we won’t stop until it’s done.
