Dzmitry Miranovich – Co-Founder and CEO
- Former investment professional at The Carlyle Group, with over $400 billion of assets under management.
- Extensive experience investing in multi-location healthcare service companies, including investments in several veterinary consolidators.
Bill Wagner, DVM – Co-Founder and COO
- Extensive experience as a veterinarian in small animal general practice.
- Founded a specialty pet care product brand, Doc Wags.
- Received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University and his Bachelors of Science in physics from Boston College.
Lisa Smogar – Controller
- Lisa brings to AVP a strong background in corporate accounting with 17 years’ experience in the Dental Service industry.
- She has many years of managerial experience and expertise as a Finance Controller analyzing and developing financial information.
- Lisa brings input to the company’s business strategy, planning, and financial reporting.
- Graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a major in accounting.
Jocelyn Davis – Director of Veterinary Operations
- Over 22 years of experience in the veterinary profession across general practice, large animal, non-profit, de novo start up, and specialty veterinary medicine arenas, with 14 years of experience in multi-site operations.
- Extensive knowledge and special interests in animal welfare, employee engagement and retention, process automation, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and analytics.
- Creating community outreach partnerships with local animal welfare organizations to keep pets in their homes after adoption, and developing technology to facilitate efficient workflows are my passion projects.
Deanna Mercurio – Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition
- Deanna brings to the Success Center an exceptional record of demonstrated success in veterinary talent acquisition. Her strong background in marketing, social media, and brand management aides her in successfully onboarding veterinary staff.
- She creates a positive candidate experience from phone screen to offer through her genuine relationship building and her authentic rapport with each candidate.
- Deanna received her Bachelor of Arts from Manhattanville College with a focus on Communication Studies and Management.
Nick Ciccone – Partnerships and Acquisitions Associate
- Extensive M&A experience from the veterinary consolidator world.
- Joined AVP with a strong background in corporate finance, data analysis, customer service, and a love for all animals.
- Nick says that his photography lessons are an extension of his ability to find beauty in all things. Through Nick’s eyes, numbers tell a beautiful story for AVP.
- Holds a Bachelor of Science from Siena College with a focus on corporate finance and investments.
Aira Kei Fronda – Bookkeeper/AP Specialist
- A seasoned accountant with six years of hands-on experience, brings to AVP a unique blend of expertise cultivated across international borders.
- With a global mindset, she has made effective contributions to a manufacturing company in the Philippines, played a key role in a leading healthcare company based in Singapore, and successfully managed diverse clients based in the United States.
- Aira’s proficiency lies in the intricate domain of Accounts Payable, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions.
- Aira holds a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
Whitney Fisher – Veterinary Operations Manager
- With 18 years of hands-on experience in the veterinary field, Whitney brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our dynamic operations team, driving excellence and innovation.
- Throughout her career, Whitney has excelled in general practice and multi-site operations, showcasing her ability to lead diverse teams and streamline complex processes for optimal performance.
- Whitney is deeply passionate about empowering hospital managers and their teams, fostering growth through mentorship, leadership development, and collaborative success.
Chelsea Cruz – Bookkeeper/AP Specialist
- With over six years of professional experience as an accountant, Chelsea brings a wealth of expertise in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis. Throughout her career, she has honed her skills in managing complex financial operations, particularly within the fast-paced telemedicine industry, working extensively with US-based companies.
- Chelsea is a passionate advocate for animal welfare, deeply committed to the well-being and protection of animals.
- She graduated from Jose Rizal University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration – majoring in accounting.
- The Success Center is thrilled Chelsea is on the team, and we love her international experience.
Shannon Clarke – Veterinary Operations Manager
- Shannon brings over 30 years of experience in the veterinary industry as a Technician and Practice Manager in general practice, emergency, specialty, wildlife, and shelter settings.
- She has considerable project management, training, and education experience in a group practice setting, specializing in veterinary hospital operations.
- Holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University Northridge and a Master of Business Management from the University of Phoenix, Shannon is passionate about patient care, veterinary technology, team engagement, and client education.

Lindsey Payne – Veterinary Sourcer
- An accomplished talent acquisition professional with a decade of experience in the veterinary industry. She began her career as an animal care attendant and worked her way to a veterinary technician after finding her passion in the field.
- Intimate knowledge of the hospital setting and loves connecting with the unique and compassionate people that are drawn to veterinary medicine.
- Successful track record of finding and retaining top talent in the industry which is a testament to her love of pets, creative mind and enthusiasm.
- She has an Associate of Arts in English and Communication from North Central Texas College and an Associate in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster.
